Kaci Christian is a storyteller and a connector. It’s a natural gift for her to meet people, learn about their lives and proceed to introduce them to information, resources or other people. She has always loved interacting with people, listening to them and sharing their stories to educate, to entertain and to inspire others. She recalls telling stories and connecting people even as a young child.
In her family, giving back is a way of life. Kaci learned the value in volunteering from her parents and encouraged by her mom and dad, began volunteering and fundraising for various causes when she was in elementary school. Kaci has donated thousands of hours and raised more than $100,000 for numerous charitable and civic organizations and has received in return much more than she has ever given.
After completing her MBA, Kaci worked for several years in the corporate sector, first with the internationally-recognized CPA and consulting firm, Deloitte & Touche, and later in the Private Business Advisory Services department of KPMG Peat Marwick. A skilled communicator, she also served as an adjunct professor in the graduate school of business at the University of Houston (Clear Lake campus). Her enterprising and inquisitive spirit led her to explore several fields including marketing and public relations before she segued into broadcasting in 1999.
She has been a familiar and trusted face seen in homes throughout the United States as a local television news anchor/reporter. Most recently she was recruited to Oklahoma to be the lead investigative reporter in the Solving Problems division of the local FOX television affiliate in Tulsa where she received several awards for her storytelling and investigative reporting. Prior to her tenure in television, Kaci’s newscasts and traffic reports were heard by millions on radio stations serving the southern California area including KFI 640 AM (Clear Channel), KFWB 980 AM (CBS News Radio), KNX 1070 AM (CBS News Radio) and KRLA 870 AM (Salem Communications). She is a longtime member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA) performers’ unions.
As a broadcast journalist, Kaci has spent a significant amount of her personal time in public service, hosting/emceeing events, moderating panel discussions, speaking or participating as a panelist, reading to children and participating in charity walks or fundraisers. She also serves as an advocate for underrepresented or voiceless populations including wildlife, animals, the environment, children and the elderly.
Kaci has written numerous articles published in newspapers, magazines and online. She is the author of a soon-to-be released memoir chronicling her extraordinary journey traveling on her own throughout Nepal for nearly three months in late 2009. In 2010, she founded The WE Conference™, an organization that unites powerful, experienced and inspiring leaders to share their wisdom in live, virtual and broadcast events. The WE Conference™ events focus on topics relating to health, wellness and personal growth with the objective of inspiring, supporting & promoting empowerment.
